Join Slag Factory and The Friends Of The High Lakes on Saturday, September 27th, 2014 for Public Lands Day at Spring Valley Lake at the High Lakes! Come support the land and trails you love to wheel! There will be a raffle and a big dinner. Bring the whole family for a day of fun! There will be groups headed out around 9-10am Saturday morning headed out on various trails to pick up trash and do a some trail maintenance (cutting back overhanging limbs, moving rocks for water flow, identifying areas needing maintenance for erosion control, etc). All in all, it’s another fun day of wheeling with a ton of great people. Come with us, or hang out at Spring Valley! Included in the raffle are various prizes as well as grand prizes being a brand new winch and a Henry rifle!
Keep public lands open to the public! The forest service is trying to close roads and campsites! As long as we maintain them, we can keep the High Lakes open for future wheelers and educate newcomers about what the High Lakes has to offer.
Anytime you are up there and pick up trash or help a trail, please fill out this form (takes about 2 minutes). It tells the state we are up there putting in work and maintaining one of the many areas we love to go! It also helps the Friends of the High Lakes to possibly receive a grant, which the funding will go straight to further maintaining the trails.
If you are not familiar with the High Lakes, check out some pictures!
We hope to see you there!
